Public Relations Senior Account Executive
Job Description
The Point Group is seeking an enthusiastic senior public relations account executive, ideally a candidate with at least 3 years of PR experience who is a versatile and innovative thinker and adept at navigating the media landscape to generate positive and impactful media coverage for clients.
Also should be proficient at generating content for marketing use in other channels, such as blogs and social media as needed to deliver integrated content marketing. Must have excellent writing skills and be proficient in AP style.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of agency or corporate experience in public relations
- Excellent writing and editing skills are a must, with solid understanding of AP style; a minimum of 3 writing samples will be required for interview consideration
- Demonstrated acumen planning, executing, and measuring public relations campaigns, as well as servicing day-to-day account needs
- Experience building and maintaining positive client relationships
- Exceptional verbal and presentation skills
- Detail-oriented self-starter and problem solver
- Media junkie who thirsts for knowledge, reads industry news, and monitors the latest trends
- 4-year degree in journalism, PR/communications, business, liberal arts, marketing, English, or related subject area
- Knowledge and proficiency of PowerPoint software for presentation preparation/delivery
What You’ll Be Doing
- Serving as the primary client contact on the day-to-day development and implementation of public relations initiatives for clients across multiple industries
- Building and sustaining effective relationships with client-side managers
- Executing effective media relations campaigns and consistently securing media coverage for clients across all media platforms
- Measuring results and impact, and calibrating activities and programs based on success and improvement
- Producing results reporting and sharing/discussing reports with clients
- Creating and encouraging the development of proactive and innovative ideas and programs
- Also, as needed, developing and delivering content that can be leveraged across multiple channels, including blog marketing and social media
- Conducting competitive and industry research for clients and/or prospective clients
- Managing account projections, billing, and account status
- Overseeing operational performance of multiple accounts simultaneously, ensuring quality work, deadlines, and adherence to budgets
- Keeping team members informed on project developments and issues via regular status meetings, status reports, conference reports and meeting recaps
- Engaging with clients to provide updates, gather feedback and execute programs
